About me
Hello, I’m Julie. I am an MLIS graduate and a former art teacher. I am passionate about providing excellent patron services, including reference and reader’s advisory assistance, ensuring that books and other resources are accessible to all by providing exceptional, unbiased descriptive cataloging. I believe that a collection should be inclusive, diverse, and represent all perspectives. My interests in librarianship include metadata (DC, MODS, METS, VRA Core), genealogy and local history, archives, linked data and cataloging.
Personally, I enjoy many hobbies. Spending time with family tops the list. I enjoy exploring different art processes like painting, printmaking and collage. I also love photography while hiking, baking and experimenting in the kitchen, getting lost in a good read, and quiet days at the beach along the shore of Lake Michigan. Although not that sporty, I do enjoy golf and swim when I get the chance.
